Who can get Lifeline?
An eligible household must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Has an income at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
- Participates in certain government assistance programs: SNAP, WIC, SSI, Medicaid or other programs
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
You can also receive Lifeline assistance if you live on Tribal lands and meet any of the criteria above, or if you or someone in your household:
- Participate in Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assitance
- Participate in Head Start (based on the income qualifying standard)
- Participate in Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
- Participate in Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
